Real Madrid Club de Futbol was formed in 1902 it is known as Spain´s and the world´s most successful football club. According to FIFA´s club ranking of the 20th century, it ranks ahead of Manchester United. The club was originally named Madrid Club de Futbol, but it changed to use the title Real after King Alfonso XIII of Spain giving the club an official blessing in June,1920.
